Spotify is making its premium plan for students even better.
Priced at $4.99 a month, the plan already included unlimited on-demand access to the streaming service’s library of music and podcasts, plus a subscription to Hulu Limited Commercials. As of today, Spotify is adding another perk without upping the price: Showtime.
That’s a pretty great deal, considering Spotify Premium normally costs non-students $9.99 a month while Hulu Limited Commercials is $7.99 a month and Showtime is $10.99 a month. Showtime’s library includes shows like Shameless and Homeland, movies such as Girl on the Train and Baby Driver, sports programming like Championship Boxing, and more.
Best Music Streaming Services
The offer is available to US college students enrolled at Title IV accredited institutions; to sign up, head here. New users can snag three months for just $0.99. If you already subscribe to Spotify Premium for Students, visit that same link to upgrade your account and get Showtime at no additional cost.
“By joining forces with Showtime and continuing our relationship with Hulu, Spotify Premium is now able to give students a complete world of music and video content, shows and film,” Spotify Chief Premium Officer Alex Norström said in a statement. “Never before have students had this level of streaming entertainment options, at this unprecedented value, all in one package.”
If you already pay for Showtime and/or Hulu, be sure to cancel those subscriptions before you sign up for Spotify Premium for Students, because you won’t be able to pair your existing accounts to Spotify. Once you sign up, you’ll need to set up a separate account for each service.
